A former CEO, John Gill moved to Longboat Key
after an illustrious career in the corporate world. Recognizing the
idyllic lifestyle of Sarasota and the nearby keys, he obtained his
real estate license and began investing in real estate. Soon, he
was helping other professionals and retirees achieve their dreams of
living in paradise.
John held management positions with Proctor &
Gamble, Bristol-Myers Squibb and the McCormick spice company,
becoming CEO of McCormick Canada at age 34. He was an active member
of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). After retiring from
McCormick, John owned the largest high-voltage electrical testing
company in the United States, serving large institutional and
government clients and most of the hospitals in the mid-Atlantic,
including the prestigious Johns Hopkins University and Medical
Center.
Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, John is an
affable personality and attentive listener who “never met a
stranger.” Worldly and well traveled like many of his clients, he
has been to every continent and has rubbed shoulders with world
leaders. His travels and contacts give him "a point of connection"
with just about everyone he meets. When he is not traveling with
his wife, Arlene, he enjoys golf, reading, fine dining and music.
The Gills have two children, Paul, a fourth-year law student, and
Glen, a university professor.
